Earth Hour Australia 2014

Earth Hour was found in 2007 at Sydney and now embaraced across 7001 cities and 152 nations across the globe. It focuses on standing up for the most threatened place in each country and spreading the awareness.

In 2014, Earth Hour will focus attention on one of the world’s most iconic and threatened places: Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Earth Hour Australia is launching a special television event with Channel Ten to reveal the true story of what’s happening to the Great Barrier Reef due to climate change and more. Then it is proposed to turn out the lights to make a stand for our reef.

Day: Saturday 29th March 2014

Time: 8:30 – 9:30 pm (local time)

You can be a part of it by tuning in to must-see TV special, before turning out the lights to remind the world that it’s lights out for the Great Barrier Reef. You can also organise small or large Earth Hour Gathering . The organisers of the fifty best – most original, inspiring, impressive or unique Earth Hour gatherings – will then win a ticket to Camp Earth Hour on the Great Barrier Reef.  Please register to know more on organising groups.
