Greetings from WoW,

Hard to believe but spring is just around the corner as well as your September/October break.

This has prompted us to plan a trip to one of our favourite places here in South Australia ….the Flinders Ranges and Outback !!!

Recently we have toured through the area and everything is looking so pretty good after good winter rains. This means a cracker of a season particularly with wild flowers and wildlife.

Once again with the kind generosity of Study Adelaide, WoW is planning a full 3 day tour with everything included for only $290 per person.

The accommodation at Rawnsley Park is based in the heart of the “Flinders” and we have exclusive use of rooms, camp kitchen and male and female toilets and showers.

As well as plenty of stops for walks and photography, part of the excitement  of the tour is  travelling off road through some of the most spectacular gorges in the Flinders Ranges.

This tour is strictly 20 students per tour  so be quick to avoid disappointment.

Day 1 Departing Adelaide we head north to the “Southern Flinders Ranges”.
After a delicious picnic lunch, there will be a hike through Mount Remarkable
National park to view where the ocean meets the outback. Later in the day we
travel to the heart of the Flinders Ranges to begin many unique experiences in this
special land. Late afternoon we arrive at Rawnsley Park to stay overnight &
experience the abundance of native wildlife and flora. A nocturnal bush walk will
depart after a BBQ dinner by the fire.

Day 2 Wake up to the call of the Kookaburras. Enjoy your breakfast and the
morning view of South Australia’s iconic Wilpena Pound (also known to the local
Aboriginal people as ‘Ikara’). The rest of the day is dedicated to explore and
photograph the diverse flora and fauna, in one of the unique geographical
wonders of the world. We also visit the famous Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges
(also known as ‘the corridors through time’) to view ancient rock formations & spot
the elusive Yellow Footed Rock Wallabies. Wildlife includes Kangaroos, Emus and
large Wedge Tailed Eagles, which are prolific in this rugged area. Later in the day
we turn back to Rawnsley Park settle down for the night under millions of stars
and enjoy dinner around the campfire.

Day 3 We start the day with a visit to a sacred aboriginal site, where you will be
able to see ancient rock art paintings and roaming kangaroos. As we then turn
southward toward Adelaide, you will have the opportunity to experience the Clare
Valley, one of the best wine regions in South Australia. Here you can visit shops,
buy and taste the fine wines. Late afternoon sit back & relax for the ride back into
Adelaide. Approximate time of arrival is 6pm.
