Recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in our Constitution –
On 19 January 2012, the Expert Panel on Constitutional Recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples delivered its report to the Commonwealth Government. The Report recommended the formal recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Constitution.
The Government has not yet responded to the Report.
This seminar will provide three perspectives on the recommendations and the position of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples under our Constitution.
