International Criminal Law through the eyes of a practitioner

On Wednesday 28 May 2014, The Adelaide Law School hosted a special seminar on International Criminal Law. William Smith, a practising international criminal lawyer since 1995, presented the special seminar on ‘International Criminal Law through the eyes of a practitioner’.

William Smith has been practising law at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) and for a short time in East Timor.

In his seminar he described his experiences in the development of this field of law, the progress it has made, and the challenges he has experienced and observed along the way.

The seminar was very well attended by staff and students.
