On Thursday 31 July, Dr Dale Stephens spoke in Port Augusta on international law in conflict zones. Sponsored by the Red Cross, Dale spoke on his experience in war zones and his firsthand knowledge of the way the law is applied in combat operations.
He discussed the reality of being in a combat zone, the power of the law, the desperation and vulnerability of civilians caught up in it, and the need for combatants to connect with their humanity when making life and death decisions.
Dale’s unparalleled insight into this topic made for a very informative and moving event.
Thank you to the support from the Law Foundation of SA Incorporated helping the Adelaide Law School and the Red Cross bring this event work to the Port Augusta and northern communities.
