NSW Parliamentary Committee backs recommendations on unpaid work

The NSW Parliament’s Committee on Children and Young People has completed an inquiry into volunteering and unpaid work placements among children and young people in that state. In dealing with unpaid work experience, its report makes extensive reference to research and submissions by Adelaide Law School Professors Rosemary Owens and Andrew Stewart. Among other things, the Committee has recommended the development of a code of practice for internships, as well as further research into the prevalence and impact of such arrangements.
