Public Lecture – Fair Work for All: Minimum Labour Standards in the Global Era

The Adelaide Law School is delighted to invite you  to the upcoming Workplace Relations Education Series lecture titled ‘Fair Work for All: Minimum Labour Standards in the Global Era’, which will be presented by Professor Rosemary Owens, AO. These lectures are an initiative of the Fair Work Commission.

This presentation will explore the role of minimum standards in the global era, challenges in protecting vulnerable and low-paid workers while at the same time facilitating flexibility to promote productivity and economic growth. The growth of ‘precarious work’ will be discussed and in considering the prospects for achieving the goal of fairness for all through our regulatory system, the role of the Fair Work Commission in setting and adjusting award standards will be evaluated.
