Law School Career Website Goes Live

The Law School has taken careers advice online through its new Career Website.

The site was developed by lecturers Kellie Toole and Anna Olijnyk through the university’s Careers Office, and made possible by a Faculty of the Professions Learning and Development Grant.

The site shows videos from recent graduates who are working in the law or using their law degree in other professional careers. The graduates give great advice on planning for a career and joining the workforce as a law graduate. It also has a stream of advertisements for legal jobs, and links to resources for getting a job and planning a career.

Kellie says ‘the site is about building our community as much as providing information on careers. It’s a great way for us to keep in touch with our graduates and recognise their achievements, as well as to help current students.’

Anna says ‘the videos will give our students encouragement and practical ideas about their career development.  The site is off to a great start and we hope to add more content over the coming year.’

Any students or graduates who are working in the law or a related area are very welcome to contact the school about being featured on the Careers website.

The site will be formally launched in April at a Next Steps event.
