From 9-27 January 2017 Professor Melissa de Zwart was a Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore Law School (NUS). Professor de Zwart taught an intensive course on ‘Copyright in the Age of the Internet’ for the NUS LL.B. program.That course considered the particular legal issues that the ubiquitous use of the internet and, in particular, social media has created for copyright creators and users. During her time at NUS she also presented a Public Seminar on Social Media, Fair Dealing and Consent, which was very well attended by Singaporean legal practitioners and members of the public. The commentator for this seminar was Associate Professor David Tan, Vice Dean (Academic Affairs). Professor de Zwart was also invited to attend A Discussion with Mr Gabriel Duque, Ambassador of Colombia to Japan, Former Adjunct Ambassador of Colombia to the WIPO, on Intellectual Property and Trade.
