RUMLAE Director, Professor Dale Stephens was recently invited to attend the US Strategic Command Advanced Operational Law Conference held in Omaha Nebraska. U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM) is tasked with US Cyber, Nuclear and Space Defence and the Conference was jointly organised between US STRATCOM and the University of Nebraska Law School. Professor Stephens was part of a panel that addressed legal issues associated with the framework for the conduct of military operations in outer space. Adelaide Law School is fast developing a national and international reputation in Space Law and is working closely with the University of Nebraska Law School, a world leader in this field, to jointly advance research and scholarship in issues of Space Law. In early 2018, Professor Stephens and Professor de Zwart will be leading an Adelaide Law School study tour to the US and will spend a significant amount of time in Nebraska where a number of national security and space related presentations and workshops will be conducted.
