On 14 August, Dr Nengye Liu co-convened and spoke at the University of Adelaide’s Research Tuesday Forum “Protecting the Catch”, during this year’s National Science Week. The Forum was well supported by the University of Adelaide’s Marketing and Communications Team, and opened by Prof Robert Hill, Director of Environment Institute. It gathered distinguished multi-disciplinary speakers from Melbourne Law School (A/Prof Margaret Young), University of Tasmania (Prof Reg Watson, Professor of Fisheries and Ecological Modelling) and PIRSA SA (Mr Keith Rowling) to discuss how to achieve sustainable fisheries in the world. There were five talks followed by a panel discussion, chaired by marine ecologist Dr Zoe Doubleday from the School of Biological Sciences.
In total, the Forum received more than 450 registrations and the Braggs Lecture Theatre was fully attended. It was recorded by the ABC and can be watched at the University of Adelaide’s official channel on the YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKzIOscftOo
