Professor Christopher Symes spoke at the annual ARITA (Australian Restructuring Insolvency $ Turnaround Associaton) conference held at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday 7th September. His address raised the need for a detailed insolvency reform project to follow up from the extremely successful ALRC Harmer Report of 1988. ARITA recently announced they were creating a Financial Recovery Law Reform Commission and Professor Symes favourably critiqued this move and identified matters that should form part of any comprehensive review of insolvency law in the 21st century.
