RUMLAE visit to the Adelaide Womens Prison

Thanks to Chris Tilley from the Department for Correctional Services for escorting the Adelaide Law School’s Research Unit for Military Law and Ethics (RUMLAE) researchers Kellie Toole and Elaine Waddell to the Adelaide Womens Prison and the Pre-Release Centre. The researchers were able to interview prisoners for their research into why male ex service men are in prison at approximately twice the rate of the general population. They were also able to undertake the first interviews for a new project on women in prison whose partner, mother or father were in the Australian Defence Force, to see if there is a connection between their offending and their family members’ military experience.
