Library Search tips: versions

One of the powerful features of the new Library Search is its ability to group records for essentially the same work. For example, if we have three editions of a textbook, you’ll see just one item in the search results, which makes for a shorter results list so you get to the item you want more quickly.

When this happens, you’ll see a red “flag” on the right hand side of the window, labelled “View all versions”, or “View 3 versions”, signifying that there are multiple versions of this title in our collection. Click on the red flag and you’ll see all the versions of the work listed separately.

So, if you are looking for a specific edition of a work, or you want to place a hold on a physical item, make sure you click on that red flag.
