We are upgrading the library management system (back-office) to improve user services and provide an integrated electronic and physical work space for library staff.
Scheduled ‘go live’ for our new system is 26 November.
Improvements for users include:
- Automatic renewal of loan transactions for the University Community
- Improvements to requesting
- Faster notification
There will be some minor disruptions as the implementation is finalised. The last New Books display for 2013 will go up on 6 November; requesting and renewals will be unavailable from 5pm Friday 22 November – Tuesday 26 November 6pm (Inter Library requests can be placed as usual).
Changes to Library Search will be minimal and relate to minor display changes – it will provide better item location details and requesting.
As Flinders University and University of SA are also upgrading to the same system over December, there will be some minor disruptions to the Reciprocal Borrowing service. We will publicise exact dates when they are known.
