eResearch Monthly explores GoPros and iPhones in research

The University Libraries and Technology Services are teaming up to bring you eResearch Monthly… And this month we’re looking at GoPros and iPhones for video in research.

Amy Watson from the School of Mechanical Engineering will be sharing her tips on using GoPro cameras to film sea snake movements. Amy will share the lessons she has learnt along the way and explain how she manages and uses the (large!) files this research generates.

Tim Rabanus-Wallace from Ecology and Evolutionary Biology will be telling us about his use of video on field trips to raise awareness of his research in ancient DNA. Tim will talk about how and why he uses video as a communication tool, and how it benefits his research.

4-5pm Wednesday 10 December, Ira Raymond Room, Barr Smith Library.
