The Acting University Librarian has nominated a strategic planning team within the Library Senior Staff Committee to consultatively develop a University Libraries 2015 Plan. A key aspect of the plan is the University Libraries’ vision, mission and strategic goals.
The Library Senior Staff Committee have considered and are seeking feedback on the following draft statements and goals:
University Libraries will be bold, agile and widely recognised as an essential contributor to the University of Adelaide’s academic and research success.
University Libraries manage and deliver the University of Adelaide’s scholarly and business information assets, providing excellence in service and innovation to enable leading teaching and research.
- Re-imagine scholarly resources and collections to support our users’ evolving information needs.
- Re-purpose services and space to meet and anticipate evolving community needs.
- Re-engage with users via partnerships and collaborations to deliver fit for purpose services to support teaching and research.
Our vision, mission and goals should provide us with a clear understanding of the priorities in our operations and provide a framework for our actions and achievements in 2015. As part of our University Libraries 2015 Plan, they will provide us with a foundation to embrace future transformation in implementing the recommendations of the Library of the Future project.
Library staff are invited to discuss and comment. Two workshops will be held this week, as detailed below. The workshops will be focused on understanding our current situation and discussing the suitability of the draft vision, mission and strategic goals. Workshops are open to any Library staff member who is keen to actively contribute to an understanding of the current role and context of the Library.
