Friends of the Library: Judith Brown – Researching Place of Pines and other historical works

The Friends of the University of Adelaide Library invite you to a Discovery event with Judith Brown on Thursday 21 May, 2015, at 1.00pm in the Ira Raymond Exhibition Room, Barr Smith Library, University of Adelaide.

Judith Margaret Brown is a published non-fiction writer and historian. It took her seven years of research and writing to complete Place of Pines. Her historical romance begins in England in 1913 and covers 2 World Wars, the Great Depression and the French Resistance, before ending in England again.
Her books on South Australian history, The Almonds of Walkerville, Augustus Short DD, Bishop of Adelaide and Country Life in Pioneer SA among others, are in constant use for student research.
She presented a weekly program on ABC television for 2 years and on Radio 5DN for 3 years, researching and presenting programs that covered a broad spectrum including current affairs, politics and history.
