Major Library management system upgrade

We are upgrading the library management system (back-office) to improve user services and provide an integrated electronic and physical work space for library staff.
Scheduled ‘go live’ for our new system is 26 November.
Improvements for users include:

Automatic renewal of loan transactions for the University Community
Improvements to requesting
Faster notification

Follow you printing enabled in the BSL

Follow you printing is now available in the Barr Smith Library for students.  This means that students can send a print job from any computer suite in the Library (or the Hub) and release (print) the job at any student quota printer in the Library (or the Hub).

Library Orientation for new students

Each Library orientation session lasts about 50 minutes and includes:

a brief guided tour of the Barr Smith Library
an introduction to finding library resources

No need to book but student numbers per session are limited.
