Announcement: Centre summer vacation research projects and scholarships

The Freemasons Foundation Centre for Men’s Health is offering student scholarships for Summer Vacation Projects in 2013-2014. The support will be provided either as a top up with 4 week extension to the University of Adelaide Summer Scholarship, if awarded, or as an independent 6 week ($1200) or 10 week ($2000) award for University of Adelaide and non-University of Adelaide students.

Students from the University of Adelaide are required to complete and submit the Adelaide Summer Research Scholarship 2013-14 application form in the first instance (Deadline 11 Oct 2013). http://www.adelaide.edu.au/scholarships/undergrad/asrs.html.  Unsuccessful candidates will then be considered for an independent award.  

Non-University of Adelaide students are also eligible to apply and should contact the Centre directly.

The 2013-2014 research projects on offer include:
– Men’s health services utilisation
– Men’s use of help lines
– Gastro oesophageal reflux disease and depression and anxiety disorders
– Obstructive sleep apnoea
– Rural and farmer health
– Prostate cancer
– Positive psychology and elite football player health and sporting performance
– Multidisciplinary team approach in urology oncology
