Obesity and diabetes prevention study – T4DM Recruitment closing soon

Are you, a male friend or partner finding it difficult to lose weight?

Being overweight and carrying extra weight around your waist, particularly if you are over 50 years of age, puts you at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Once you develop type 2 diabetes your body becomes resistant to insulin. If untreated, this resistance causes increased blood sugar levels, increased blood fat levels and muscle breakdown which can lead to serious health problems.

Other lifestyle risk factors for type 2 diabetes are:
– having high cholesterol or high blood pressure
– not exercising regularly

This trial is investigating the role of testosterone in assisting men who are finding it difficult to lose weight to get them back to healthy weight and thus to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. All participants will receive free access to a Weight Watchers healthy lifestyle program.  Recruitment will be closing soon.
