At the University of Adelaide new tools and resources are always being identified, developed, trialed and piloted with a view to enhancing teaching and learning and improving the student experience. Two current examples are described below.
A new course readings system is coming
Would you like to build comprehensive resource lists and have them delivered directly to your MyUni course? Are you keen to provide students with easy access to material from both library and non-library sources? Does the idea of being able to organise resources in your MyUni course by week, topic or theme sound appealing? Would you like your students to actively engage with resources using a Discussion board? A new resource list management system which provides all this and more is coming. It will seamlessly integrate MyUni and Library Search and save time in compiling resource lists. It will improve the student experience.
The University of Adelaide Library is piloting the new system in Semester 2 2018 before it is implemented across all courses in Semester 1 2019. Please contact Jaime Royals, Manager – Learning and Teaching Innovation, if you would like to be involved.
And there’s more…..
Two additional access points to thoroughly researched and current business information on IBISWorld are being trialed by the Library.
- IBISWorld’s Company Reports analyze the 2000 largest Australian and New Zealand companies; listed & non-listed public, private, foreign owned, trusts & government businesses. Each profile contains directors, key personnel, balance sheet and P&L data, ownership structure as well as the auditors, bankers and solicitors. In addition, the premium reports offers more detailed information including company activities, cross directorships, industry ratios and an analysis of the competitive environment.
- IBISWorld’ s Specialised Industry Reports have also been included in the trial. IBISWorld describes this collection as the bedrock of their report library, which compliment the complexity of the Australia Industry Reports. These reports can often be too broad when dealing with small or new industries, so the specialised reports can support the main report collection.
From the main IBISWorld page you can browse Report Listings and find Australia Company Reports and Australia Specialised Reports.
The trial is active between 25 April and 30th June 2018 and can be accessed here (library login required).
The Library would like your feedback so please use the use the survey form to tell them what you think.
If you experience any problems filling in/submitting the survey form or accessing IBISWorld Company Reports, fill in the Electronic Resources Access problems form and someone from the Library will investigate and get back to you as soon as possible.
