Human Rights under the Microscope: Reflections on Parliamentary Scrutiny
The Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights was established in 2012 to systematically scrutinise all federal bills against 7 of the core international human rights treaties Australia has ratified.  This seminar will offer both legal and political reflections on how this process of scrutinising human rights has fared in its first three years.
