National Institutes of Health (NIH): Increasing Access and Uptake of HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC) and Appropriate HIV-related Services for Adolescents in Low and Middle-income Countries (R01)

This opportunity uses the R01 Research Project Grant funding mechanism.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages applications for implementation science projects that will provide results to directly inform HIV prevention and care service delivery programs for HIV-infected and at-risk, uninfected adolescents in resource limited settings, in order to increase their impact, efficiency, and sustainability.

Funding & Duration

Application budgets are limited to US $250,000 direct costs per year and need to reflect the actual needs of the proposed project. Maximum award period is five years.


Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are eligible to apply

Submission Requirements & Due Dates

  • 2 Dec 2014  – Letter of Intent (LOI) via Grants.Gov submission portal.
  • Copy of LOI forwarded to the Research Branch ASAP.
  • 19 Dec 2014  – full applications submitted to the Research Branch for internal review.
