The Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds (BIF) is a public foundation – an independent, non-profit organisation for the exclusive and direct promotion of basic research in bio-medicine.
BIF Travel Grants are awarded to junior researchers pursuing experimental projects in basic bio-medical research.
Funding & Duration
Travel grants are awarded for short-term visits of up to 3 months. The Foundation provides a flat-rate contribution which may cover the expenses for travel, lodging and course fees.
Eligibility
- Appropriately qualified investigators, pathologists, epidemiologists, laboratory technicians, tobacco control activists and cancer registrars in the early stages of their careers who hold at least a MSc or MA
- Appropriately qualified clinicians who are established in oncology practice and hold as a minimum an MD degree
Submission Requirements
Applications may be submitted at any time. To allow sufficient time for the selection procedure, applications should reach the Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds at least 6 weeks before the planned date of departure.
