Bupa Health Foundation: Grants Program 2015

Once a year the Bupa Health Foundation seeks submissions via an Expressions of Interest process for the funding of new initiatives that provide clear benefit to the Australian community in one or more of the following key strategic areas:

  • Wellbeing
  • Chronic disease
  • Healthy ageing
  • Empowering people about their health; and
  • Keeping healthcare affordable

In addition, the Foundation has a particular interest in the following disease areas:

  • Cardiovascular Health
  • Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • Dementia

Funding & Duration

The Foundation looks to fund initiatives from $100,000 to $500,000 for up to three (3) years.


To apply for Foundation funding, organisations must be one of the following:

  • University or Research Institute – including universities and independent organisations that have the requisite capabilities and responsibility to undertake research programs. Individual researchers may apply.
  • Other organisations – including charitable and not-for-profit organisations, community groups, incorporated associations (community or industry), co-operatives and companies limited by guarantee.

Funding is usually only open to Australian organisations, however applications from overseas organisations will be considered.

Submission Requirements

Applications must be accompanied by a signed and completed copy of the University’s Grant Application Cover Sheet. Submissions may be emailed to the Research Branch unless otherwise specified.
