Don Beaven Travelling Fellowships support:
- experienced medical researchers with an International reputation from Canterbury to visit research units in NZ or overseas for the purpose of the interchange of information, ideas or skills in their research field, OR
- a visit to Canterbury from time to time by selected medical research experts with an International reputation to advise or to exchange information, ideas or skills with medical researchers, research units or departments in Canterbury.
Funding & Duration
Awards will normally be made as either a grant to cover air fares or a specific grant-in-aid toward expenses. Duration of awards are normally 1-4 weeks.
Eligibility
Those eligible for awards may be either medically or non-medically qualified but must be at senior level and involved in medical/health research:
- either through working in the University of Otago, Canterbury or Lincoln Universities, Canterbury Crown Health Enterprises, or an acknowledged medical research organisation, OR
- if invited from elsewhere in New Zealand or abroad, they must be acceptable as distinguished researchers who would benefit some specific area of research in Canterbury.
