Royal Adelaide Hospital Research Foundation: Near Miss Grant 2015

These Awards are administered through the Royal Adelaide Hospital Research Committee with the aim of supporting clinically relevant research at The Royal Adelaide Hospital campus by clinical investigators.

The applicant must be CIA on a highly ranked (very close to funding cut-off) but unsuccessful NHMRC application for funding commencing 2015. Applications which received a NHMRC rank of less than category 5 will not be considered.

Amongst applications meeting the above criteria, priority will be given to clinical investigators seeking to establish or sustain a program, and who belong to groups not already funded for similar projects. Clinical projects are defined as “projects that centre on groups of patients or other human subjects, individuals with informative clinical problems or are physiological or epidemiological in scope”.

Funding & Duration

An award of up to $80,000 will be made, for one year only (Jan 2015 – Dec 2015).  The Committee may elect to award a lesser amount.

Eligibility

These Awards are intended to support research of clinical relevance.

The project must be carried out on the RAH campus (including Hanson Institute and SA Pathology where appropriate).

The original NHMRC application may have been submitted through the Hanson Research Secretariat and other Research Secretariats but a clear and bona fide link to the RAH including the location of work will be assessed by the panel.

The investigator should have a proven track record of performing innovative research.
