Birds SA Conservation Fund: Small Research Grants 2015

The South Australian Ornithological Association Inc. (Birds SA) award small research grants to encourage and promote research into the birds and their habitats in Australia, but particularly South Australia.

The Birds SA Conservation Fund will consider for support:

1. Increase knowledge and understanding of birds and/or their habitats;
2. Relate to management and conservation of Australian bird species and their habitats; or
3. Investigate factors relating to declining or threatened species of birds.

Funding & Duration

Small grants are awarded each, usually in the order of $1000-3000.


Applications are encouraged from research institutions for supervised project funding at the Honours Degree, Masters Degree and PhD levels and projects conducted by researchers at Australian research institutes.

Applications are also encouraged from people not aligned to any institution.

Submission Requirements & Internal Due Date

Applications must be submitted for internal review by 24 March 2015

Submitted applications must be accompanied by a signed and completed copy of the University’s Grant Application Cover Sheet.

Applications may be emailed to the Research Branch unless otherwise specified.
