The Australian Grape and Wine Authority will consider applications that seek funding to bring international experts to Australia to participate in workshops, meetings, conferences and symposia, and in research projects. These activities must align with AGWA’s Strategic R&D priority areas.
Visiting Scholar research activities must take place between 1 January 2016 – 30 June 2016.
Funding
The annual budget for this program is $30,000. This is likely to be allocated to up to six applicants. Expenses that may be supported include economy airfares for the international expert, a contribution towards reasonable living expenses, domestic travel, and field or other research-related expenses if the activity includes a research component.
A cash and/or in-kind co-contribution to the proposal by the applicant and other parties is expected. If the application seeks to bring a speaker to Australia for a workshop or conference, the commercial nature of the event will be taken into account when determining the level of support to be offered.
Eligibility
Applications should focus on the anticipated benefits for the Australian wine industry and/or existing research. They should highlight both the professional development benefit to the applicant, and the mechanism for dissemination of knowledge to industry. Relationships between the proposed travel and current or potential R&D should be clearly explained.
Submission Requirements & Internal Due Date
Applications must be submitted online through CIMS, and ensure the application in CIMS is forwarded to the Research Branch for internal review by 25 September 2015.
Submitted applications must be accompanied by a signed and completed copy of the University’s Grant Application Cover Sheet.
