Department of Defense Bone Marrow Failure Research Program (BMFRP): Idea Development Award 2016

The Idea Development Award is intended to support innovative ideas and high-impact approaches based on scientifically sound evidence to move towards understanding and curing bone marrow failure syndromes.

Funding & Duration

A maximum funding of US $315,000 (approx. AUD $443,000) in direct costs (plus indirect costs) will be made available.

The period of performance may not to exceed 2 years.

Eligibility

Clinical trials will not be supported.

Established Investigators: Investigators at or above the level of Associate Professor (or equivalent) are eligible to apply.

Early-Career Investigators: Investigators at the level of Assistant Professor, Instructor, or Assistant Research Professor (or equivalent) and less than 10 years from their terminal degree (excluding time spent in medical residency, or during family medical leave) at the time of application submission deadline are eligible to apply.

Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are eligible to apply.

Submission Requirements & Due Dates

  • 29 March 2016 – pre-proposal submitted via https://eBRAP.org.
  • Copy of pre-proposal forwarded to the Research Branch ASAP.
  • TBA – full applications (by invitation only) submitted to the Research Branch for internal review.
