National Institutes of Health (NIH): Rapid Assessment of Zika Virus (ZIKV) Complications (R21)

This opportunity uses the R21 Exploratory/Developmental Research Grants funding mechanism.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to provide an expedited (rapid) funding mechanism for research on Zika virus (ZIKV) and its complications.

Funding & Duration

Direct costs are limited to $275,000 over an R21 two-year period.

The maximum period of the project is 2 years.


Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are eligible to apply.

Submission Requirements

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, beginning on April 20, 2016.
