Australian Institute of Criminology: Research Grants 2016

The AIC awards grants for criminological research that is relevant to the public policy of the states, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory, and activities related to that research.

The term ‘criminological research’ is defined to mean research in connection with: the causes, correction, and prevention of criminal behaviour, and any related matter.

Funding & Duration

Funding amount not provided. Grants of 12 months will be paid in four instalments.

For grants of more than 12 months, arrangements for payment of funds will be negotiated as necessary.


Grants are awarded to researchers in universities, not-for-profit organisations, government departments and elsewhere. Grants are only for research within Australia.
