This opportunity uses the R01 Research Project Grant funding mechanism.
This scheme aims to solicit applications from multi-disciplinary teams for milestone-driven research projects that utilise novel, structure-based vaccine design approaches to generate candidate vaccine immunogens against infectious disease pathogens of clinical concern.
Funding & Duration
Budgets for direct costs of up to US $750,000 (approx. AUD $1,034,000) per year may be requested.
Applicants may also request up to an additional US $300,000 (approx AUD $414,000) in the first year of the award for major equipment to ensure that research objectives can be met and biohazards can be contained, totaling US $1,050,000 (approx. AUD $1,448,000) direct costs.
The maximum project period is 5 years.
Eligibility
Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are eligible to apply.
Submission Requirements & Due Dates
- 3 September 2016 – Letter of Intent (LOI) via Grants.Gov submission portal.
- Copy of LOI forwarded to the Research Branch ASAP.
- 19 September – full applications submitted (invitation only) to the Research Branch for internal review.
