JDRF International: Career Development Awards 2016

The primary purpose of the Career Development Award is to attract qualified and promising scientists early in their faculty careers and to give them the opportunity to establish themselves in areas that reflect the sponsor’s research emphasis areas.

Funding & Duration

Funding is awarded at US $150,000 (approx AUD $207,000) maximum/year for up to 5 years, including up to 10% for indirect costs and generally not renewable after 5 years.


There are no citizenship requirements for this program.

Career Development Award research may be conducted at foreign and domestic, for-profit and nonprofit, and public and private organisations – such as universities, colleges, hospitals, laboratories, units of state and local governments, and eligible agencies of the federal government.
