Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation: Project Grants 2016

The Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation provides support for basic and clinical research related to spinal cord injury. Research projects may address all aspects of spinal cord lesions, nerve regeneration, trophic support of lesioned neurons, and functional changes induced by lesions preferentially in mammals.

 Funding & Duration

Maximum sum per grant is € 100,000 (approx. AUD $152,700) ‐ per year all inclusive. Indirect costs (overhead costs) are limited to 10% of direct costs (equipment, products, animals and animal care, fringe costs, etc.). The maximum funding period for a project grant is 3 years.


Project Grants are awarded to the institution, such as hospital, university, or research-centre, and not the individual.

  • 1 September 2016 – Executive Summary, submitted directly to Sponsor
  • Copy of Executive Summary forwarded to the Research Branch ASAP.
  • 25 October 2016 – full applications submitted to the Research Branch for internal review.
