Australia-Japan Foundation (AJF): Grants 2017

For 2017 the Australia-Japan Foundation (AJF) will prioritise high quality programs particularly, but not exclusively, across any of the three cross-cutting themes: youth; gender, diversity and inclusion; and innovation.

Projects must demonstrate collaboration between Japanese and Australian partners, including through financial and other (e.g. in-kind) contributions.

Funding & Duration

Most AJF grants awarded are in the range of AUD $5,000 to $40,000 (exclusive of GST).


Applications are open to individuals who are Australian citizens or permanent residents, Australian entities with an ABN or ACN and to Japanese citizens and organisations.
