National Arts Council (NAC) Singapore: Research Grants

In recognition of the importance of research and to build up research capabilities in the arts, National Arts Council (Singapore) Research Grant supports research which:

  • expands knowledge of the arts and cultural sector, audiences, and policies; and/or
  • supports the documentation of and research into arts practices in Singapore.

Funding & Duration

The grant may support up to 100% of qualifying costs if the project is not funded by other sources. The grant amount for any individual, group or organisation is capped at SGD $50,000 (approx. AUD $48,000) per year, for up to 2 years.

Eligibility

The Research Grant is open to:

  • Singaporeans/PR who are academics, researchers, artists, and non-profit arts organisations registered with ACRA or as a society with the Registry of Societies
  • Foreign researchers who are based in Singapore (i.e. able to provide proof of employment) and/or are collaborating with a Singaporean/PR or institution/researcher

Submission Requirements & Due Date

The Research Grant is open for application all year round.

The Council requests that researchers submit an application at least two months before the research commences.
