Toyota Foundation: Research Grants 2017

The Toyota Foundation Research Grant Program supports research projects in accordance with its program title, “Exploring New Values for Society”.

The objective of the program is to encourage ambitious projects that seek new values for society by fundamentally exploring basic ways of thinking and methodologies on what approach we should take to address difficult issues to be faced in the future.

Funding & Duration

The grant period will begin May 1, 2018 for one or two-year projects.

Category A (Joint Research) grants may receive up to ¥4M (approx AUD $48,000) for one-year projects and up to ¥4M (approx AUD $96,000) for two-year projects.

Category B (Individual Research) grants may receive up to ¥1M (approx AUD $12,000) for one-year projects and up to ¥2M (approx AUD $24,000) for two-year projects.


There are no restrictions based on nationality, affiliation, academic background, or area of residence.
