Lung Foundation Australia supports research to improve the diagnosis and management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in Australia. Specifically, the proposed research must be aimed at developing and/or delivering optimal care to people with COPD.
Relevant domains of research inquiry range from evaluation of population screening initiatives; interventions to improve diagnostic accuracy within primary care; through to issues of management in the context of a clinician-patient interaction to system level issues to do with the organisation, financing and performance of the health system, including COPD management of indigenous and ethnic minorities within Australia.
Funding & Duration
The Fellowship is available as either a one- or two-year award, with a value of AUD $80,000 per annum, and is tenable in conjunction with additional financial support.
The Fellowship will be awarded at the next Annual Scientific Meeting of the TSANZ and must be taken up within 12 months of receipt.
Eligibility
Applications are invited from medical and scientific graduates who will be resident in Australia throughout the period of the research program.
Applicants must be a financial member/associate member of The Australian Lung Foundation and the Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand.
