NHMRC – National Foundation for Science & Technology Development of Vietnam (NAFOSTED): Collaborative Research Projects

The NHMRC – NAFOSTED Joint Call for Collaborative Research Projects has been developed for research into one or more of the following themes:

  • Infectious Diseases
  • Maternal/Child Health
  • Public Health

The specific objectives of the joint call are to:

  • generate new knowledge in infectious diseases, maternal/child health and/or public health that can be translated into health policy and practice to benefit human health
  • foster co-investment with international partners in research programs of joint interest that will involve researchers based in Vietnam and Australia
  • foster the exchange of scientific skills and technological capabilities between Vietnam and Australia, and
  • build further collaborations between Vietnamese and Australian researchers.

All CIs listed on the application must have an RGMS account with all call specific Profile and CV requirements completed.

Australian lead/prinicpal investigator

RGMS must be used to access/update your profile and CV and to submit your application. If they have not already done so, applicants are advised to obtain an RGMS log on and commence their profile and CV.

Applicants who are not yet registered in RGMS should contact the Research Help Centre by emailing help@nhmrc.gov.au for more information.

A complete application in RGMS must consist of the following:

  1. Completion of Parts A and B of the application form (including the Grant Proposal pdf), and
  2. The relevant information in your RGMS profile and CV.

Vietnamese lead/principal investigator

OMS must to be used to submit the application form, Scientific Curriculum Vitae and budget breakdown. A complete application in OMS must consist of the following:

  1. Application form
  2. Scientific curriculum vitae
  3. Budget breakdown

In addition, identical hard copy versions of the application form and Scientific Curriculum Vitae are also to be submitted to the NAFOSTED secretariat. The grant proposal is to be completed in both English and Vietnamese and submitted to the NAFOSTED secretariat in hard copy. Hard copy documentation are to be submitted signed and stamped as per NAFOSTED requirements.

Prior to submission of an application for funding, applicants need to ensure they have:

  • read all relevant reference material, and
  • liaised with their Administering Institution to identify any specific requirements that the Institution might have.
