Heart Foundation of Australia: Future Leader Fellowships

The Heart Foundation of Australia invites applications for its future leader fellowships. These support researchers in building their research capacity and in becoming leaders of cardiovascular research groups. There are two levels of fellowships available:

Level One Fellowships

The Level 1 Future Leadership Fellowship offers a generous salary and project funding to cardiovascular researchers. This is to facilitate high impact research outcomes and help researchers secure additional funding from further sources to help support their career and develop as independent researchers.

  • Comprises a $90,000 stipend and $40,000 per year for up to four years.
  • Must be 3–7 years post awarding of their PhD on the application closing date.
  • Be involved in any area of cardiovascular health research including biomedical, clinical, public health and health service delivery.

Level Two Fellowships

The Level 2 Future Leader Fellowship supports researchers to develop their own research portfolio and become leaders of cardiovascular research groups.

  • Comprises a $110,000 stipend and $50,000 per year for up to four years.
  • Must be 7–10 years post awarding of their PhD on the application closing date.
  • Be involved in any area of cardiovascular health research including biomedical, clinical, public health and health service delivery.
