Each year, the Institute supports four ambitious interdisciplinary projects tackling major research questions. Fellowship applicants can apply to join Durham colleagues in one of these collaborative teams to develop ground-breaking ideas, explore interdisciplinary synergies and develop new programmes of research.
Funding & Duration
All fellows are provided with a single occupancy office and half-board accommodation at Durham University. Funding will cover one return fare from their home institution and provide an honorarium of £3,000 (approx AUD $5,500) for three months. Fellows who will not be on research leave from their home institution are eligible to apply for teaching buy-out costs of up to £8,000 (approx. AUD $14,600) for three months.
Up to 20 fellowships are available.
Applicants from any nationality and any discipline, whether academic or non-academic, are eligible to apply. Applicants must have a PhD degree or an equivalent level of experience in other areas, and should have a well-established or strongly emerging international reputation.
