National Academy of Education / Spencer Foundation: Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme 2019

The National Academy of Education and the Spencer Foundation invite applications for their postdoctoral fellowship programme. This award supports early-career scholars working in critical areas of education research.

The programme also supports the careers of its recipients through professional development activities.

Funding & Duration

Up to 30 fellowships, worth US $70,000 (approx. AUD $93,000) each, are available.

Fellowships must begin during the 2019 to 2020 academic year and may be used to support one year of full-time research or two years of part-time research.

Fellows will also receive travel funds to attend obligatory meetings.


Applicants must have received their PhD, EdD or equivalent between 1 January 2013 and 31 December 2017, and the proposed project must be a research project.

International applicants are encouraged.

Applicants may not be employees of the Spencer Foundation or the National Academy of Education, and they must not receive other funding in support of their proposed research during the grant period.
