The purpose of this award is to promote the integration of experimental, analytic, and theoretical capabilities for large-scale analysis of neural systems and circuits.
This announcement seeks applications for exploratory research studies that use new and emerging methods for large scale recording and manipulation of neural circuits across multiple brain regions.
Funding & Duration
NIH BRAIN Initiative intends to commit US $12M (approx AUD $15.8M) in FY 2019 to fund up to 5 awards.
Application budgets are not limited but need to reflect the actual needs of the proposed project.
The project period must be three years.
Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are eligible to apply.

- 9 July 2018 (and 27 May 2019) – full applications submitted for internal review.
