Arthritis Research UK invites outline applications for its research projects for a cure and effective treatment for arthritis. This supports projects aiming to develop a cure and more effective treatments for people with arthritis or other associated musculoskeletal conditions, including those affecting joints, bones and muscles as well as autoimmune diseases such as lupus.
This call supports applications across the remits of the disease subcommittee, discovery and pre-clinical research, as well as treatment subcommittee, clinical and experimental research.
Funding & Duration
Grants are worth between £50,000 and £1.5 million (approx. AUD $88,000 – $2.64M ) each for up to five years.
Funding may cover salaries, running expenses, animal costs and small items of essential equipment.
Early-career researchers are especially encouraged to apply, as are new and established researchers. At least one of the applicants must have a tenured position within a UK university, hospital or recognised academic research institute.
Applications for the programmatic level must be led by established groups with a substantial internationally competitive research track record, and should take a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach.
