US Department of Defense (DoD): SuperCables – Research Grants

The US Department of Defense, via the US Army Research Office and in partnership with the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity, invites proposals for its call on supercables. This supports research and development of technology and techniques for energy-efficient, high data rate transmission of digital signals between computing systems operating at room and cryogenic temperatures.

Funding & Duration

Funding is worth up to USD $1.5M (approx. AUD $1.98M) per project over two years.

Multiple awards are anticipated. Award budgets are contingent upon availability of funds and the scope of the proposed work.


Eligible applicants include US and foreign institutions of higher education, non-profit organisations, and large and small businesses.
