The aim of this program is to develop an understanding of the magnitude of post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE) within the military and to expand research into the basic mechanisms by which traumatic brain injury (TBI) produces epilepsy.
The intent of the Longitudinal Risk Factors Award is to support a large-scale, prospective, longitudinal epidemiological research study that is relevant to the characterisation of PTE.
Research considering a pharmacologic intervention is specifically discouraged.
Funding & Duration
A maximum funding of USD $2.5M (approx. AUD $3.4M) is awarded for direct costs (plus indirect costs).
The maximum period of performance is 4 years.
Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are eligible to apply.
