US Department of Defense: Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (Office-Wide Funding) 2019

This funding opportunity supports science and technology projects which offer potential for advancement and improvement of NAWCAD operations.

Research may address the following challenges, problems and future technology needs of the warfighter:

  • systems engineering
  • cost analysis
  • air vehicles
  • power and propulsion
  • avionics
  • human systems
  • weapons and energetics
  • support equipment
  • warfare analysis
  • research and intelligence
  • test and evaluation engineering
  • simulation and modelling

Funding & Duration

Multiple awards are anticipated. The level of funding for individual awards has not been predetermined. The funded amount and period of performance of each award may vary depending on the research area and the technical approach to be pursued by the proposers selected.


US and foreign for-profit and non-profit organisations and public and private organisations may apply. Federally funded R&D centres, as well as navy laboratories, military universities and warfare centres as well as other DoD and civilian agency laboratories are not eligible. Students, postdoctoral researchers, faculty and NAWCAD personnel working on projects may pursue this work in government or educational institution facilities.
