US Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) FY2018

The vision of the PRCP is to promote:

  • highly innovative, groundbreaking research; high-impact research with near-term clinical relevance;
  • the next generation of prostate cancer investigators through mentored research; and
  • resources that will facilitate translational research.

The awards listed below will be supported for the Financial Year 2018.

Health Disparity Research Award

Established Investigators:

  • Eligibility (Established Investigators) – Independent investigators at or above the level of Assistant Professor (or equivalent)
  • Funding (Established Investigators) – Maximum funding of USD $1M (approx. AUD $1.35M) for total costs (includes direct and indirect costs)
  • Duration – Maximum period of performance is 3 years

New Investigators:

  • Eligibility (New Investigators) – Have completed at least 3 years of postdoctoral training or fellowship and are within 10 years after completion of a terminal degree (excluding residency or family medical leave)
  • Funding (New Investigators) – Maximum funding of USD $600,000 (approx. AUD $810,000) for total costs (includes direct and indirect costs)
  • Duration – Maximum period of performance is 3 years

Health Disparity Fellowship Award

  • Eligibility – Must have successfully defended a doctoral thesis or possess an M.D. degree, and have 3 years or less of postdoctoral research experience
  • Funding – Maximum funding of USD $200,000 (approx. AUD $270,000) for total costs (includes direct and indirect costs)
  • Duration – Maximum period of performance is 2 years
